Pearland sets date to re-open library
It seems like ages ago that Hurricane Ike came ashore and tore up the City of Pearland's buildings and homes. This community is making progress.
Despite being forced to work in different office buildings while ongoing reconstruction and repairs continue, city officials have set a date to re-open the Pearland Library - Monday, March 16. New business hours are 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Monday - Wednesday; 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Thursday & Friday; and 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Saturday.
DeDe Williams and her staff at the library are spending these next couple weeks re-stocking the shelves with all the books and organizing all the supplies that have been boxed during this reconstruction process.
Items may be returned to the 'outside book drop' beginning Tuesday, March 3.
Work on Pearland City Hall is expected to be complete mid- to late June. City employees and officials will continue to work out of the multiple locations until that point. Stay tuned for more details.
